We want your precious jewelry to continue to shine! Here are our tips on how to care for them.
Regardless of the material of the jewelry (Gold Plated, Gold Filled and Sterling Silver S925), it is important to take care of it or it will tarnish over time.
- Avoid contact with water, body oils, perfumes and chemicals.
- Remove jewelry before going to bed.
- Remove jewelry before sports activities, as acidic perspiration can damage the plating on the jewelry.
- Store jewelry in a dry place.
Gold plating is a thin layer of gold deposited on a metal. Most of our jewelry is made with 14K gold plating. It is important to take care of your jewelry, in order to keep it in good condition as long as possible.
Gold Filled is an American technique, which consists in wrapping a metal (usually copper) with a solid layer of gold. Our certified Gold Filled jewelry is made from 14K gold and stamped 1/20 14K GF. This means that there is 5% 14K gold.
Gold Filled is much stronger than gold plated.
